MONITORING

Indian Lake Watershed Project collects water samples for Harmful Algal Bloom testing and standard chemical testing. The Harmful Algal Bloom samples are collected at beaches and other waterfront sites around Indian Lake.

The samples are collected by volunteers and sent to BSA Laboratory in Beachwood, Ohio for analysis. In 2023, the Watershed Board paid $190.00 per sample for testing.  The standard chemical testing includes checking nitrogen and phosphorus levels. In addition, test for PH, dissolved and suspended solids, and dissolved oxygen. ILWP intends to add chlorophyll-A to testing in 2024.
